To begin treatment, our permanent makeup artist will draw the new lips with a colored lip pencil. Then, she will ask you to evaluate them to ensure you love the final shape. Once you’re happy, we will apply a topical numbing cream to your lips to make you comfortable during the treatment. After you are completely numb, we’ll tattoo the lips.
Once we’ve completed the tattooing, we’ll apply a healing balm. Your lips will likely swell and feel tender; you can ice them if necessary. You can expect the color to be bold and bright the day after tattooing; this typically worries clients, but this is the normal process. The color adjusts to its true shade over the course of four to six weeks. We provide you with a healing balm to apply to the lips for the next seven days. This will help soothe the chapped and tight feeling you can expect after treatment. It will also help with dryness and flaking. It can be very tempting to pick at the flakes during this time, but it’s vital that you leave your lips alone. Then in ten weeks, your lips will be ready for a touch-up appointment.
