OVERVIEW

After an IPL treatment, your skin may be mildly red or swollen and perhaps feel sensitive, but you should be able to resume your normal daily activities with no issues. Most patients say it feels like a mild sunburn. Treat your skin gently, avoiding anything that will irritate it.

Downtime Expectations
Downtime for an IPL photofacial is minimal, with most patients returning to normal activities immediately. However, some minor side effects like redness and swelling may occur for a few hours to a few days. Pigmented spots may darken initially before flaking off over the course of 3-10 days.
